Theorbo after Christofolo Koch, Venetia 1650

#19

A medium-sized theorbo whose narrow shape (constructed according to the golden section principle) makes it very comfortable to hold. The size of this instrument is consistent with the solo instruments played by Kapsberger and his contemporaries. The string length of the original has been shortened somewhat, 84 - 86 cm being a more suitable string length. The body is made in the German style, with wide ribs. Can be used for both solo and continuo playing in A tuning.

String length: 82.5 /167 cm

Body size: 40.2 x 64.7 x 19.5 cm, 39 ribs
