Archlute after Matteo Sellas, Venetia 1639

The so-called liuto attiorbato, a small type of archlute used for playing solo music. Although small, this instrument is quite loud. One original version has double courses throughout, although a version with single basses appears to be more suitable, providing one uses wound or other custom made strings for the basses.
